Candy AI reviews: what can be verified and what cannot

There are very many Candy reviews online, mostly on affiliate sites. We do not retell them: an affiliate link at the end of a review makes the stars useless. Below — eight sides with a source.

Checked (methodology). This site is not affiliated with Candy AI or HoneyChat; 18+ content.

Quick answers

Is Candy AI a scam?

No: a working service of a registered Maltese company with documents and support. Complaints are usually about token prices and the licence to user content.

What is the average score?

By our eight criteria — 3.5 of 5; it is not a rating from review platforms.

Why not stars

Candy has an affiliate program (Affiliate in the site menu) — so a significant share of “reviews” is written for a cut of sales. That is not an accusation but the normal mechanics of the niche; only one thing follows from it: ratings on third-party sites are not a source. Our links to HoneyChat are affiliate links too, which is why we do not put a single star rating and instead break the sides down by documents.

Eight sides of the experience

Media4.8 of 5

Photos, video, Live Action, Shorts

For visuals Candy is the benchmark: video and Live Action are rare. One point off for tokens without published prices.

Media breakdown

Transparency4.5 of 5

Legal entity, address, documents

EverAI Limited in Malta with a registry number, GDPR, a set of policies. Minus — “50M users” without proof and unpublished token prices.

Who is behind it

Price4.0 of 5

Cheap when paid yearly

$3.99 a month per year is low for the niche; $13.99 monthly is average. Tokens are the second checkout.

Pricing

Privacy3.9 of 5

Encryption and discreet billing — but a content licence

Serious promises, documents in place; the clause on a perpetual licence to your content pulls it down.

Safety

Free tier3.0 of 5

Exists, but without numbers

Free registration without published limits; media and 18+ only in the subscription.

Free plan

App3.0 of 5

PWA instead of a store

Honest, but no store icon, and other “Candy” apps sit nearby.

Memory2.5 of 5

Promises without numbers

“Remembers what matters” — no context size, no facts, no editing tools described.

Access2.5 of 5

Account and tokens

Nothing without registration; the free limits are unknown; every media action is metered.

How to read reviews of this particular service

  • “Expensive” — ask whether it is about the subscription or the tokens. Those are different expenses.
  • “Payment did not go through” — almost always about the card and the acquirer, not the service.
  • “Best AI companion, recommended” without details — an affiliate text.

Three questions before paying

Do you understand that 100 tokens is a starting amount, not unlimited media. Are you fine with an account tied to your e-mail. And have you read the clause on the licence to your uploaded content.

The case for Candy AI

If you want maximum visuals — video, Live Action, the builder — and have a way to pay, Candy is deservedly one of the leaders.

The case for HoneyChat

If you want a companion without registration, with media counted by plan rather than tokens — HoneyChat covers exactly that, and it can be checked for free in a minute.
